Job Description
UnbridledACTS is seeking a thoughtful, organized, and initiative-driven Childcare Program Development Contractor to support the early development of a childcare initiative in Cañon City. The contractor partners directly with the Director of Operations and plays a key role in researching community need, navigating licensing requirements, coordinating conversations with key stakeholders, and helping shape what a future childcare program could look like.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building something from the ground up—someone who can hold ambiguity, gather and synthesize information, and move work forward with clarity and follow-through. The ideal candidate will bring curiosity, strong communication skills, and a willingness to take ownership of a project that is still evolving.
This contract will manage shifting priorities and open-ended questions, and requires someone who can bring both structure and flexibility as the initiative takes shape.
As UnbridledACTS continues to explore and develop a potential childcare center in Cañon City, the contractor will serve as primary support for early-stage program development. There is potential for this position to grow into a full-time role managing the childcare program for the right candidate as the initiative progresses.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in a professional, nonprofit, research, or project-based environment
- 2–5 years of experience with project coordination, nonprofit operations, community development, early childhood education, program development, or a related field.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to research, synthesize, and communicate information clearly
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple moving pieces independently
- Experience in early childhood education, childcare programming, or familiarity with Colorado childcare licensing preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with community partners, government agencies, and external stakeholders
Successful candidates will have the following:
- Demonstrate respect for individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and treat beliefs with dignity.
- Be highly organized, dependable, and able to manage time and priorities effectively
- Work well independently with limited supervision while staying connected to a team
- Be comfortable working in an environment where priorities and direction may evolve as the project develops
- Take initiative to move work forward without waiting for step-by-step direction
- Bring a positive, solution-oriented attitude and willingness to step into new tasks
- Be comfortable working within both Christian & non-Christian environments
- Value collaboration, accountability, and clear communication
What you would be doing at UnbridledACTS:
- Partner with the Director of Operations to support the development of a potential childcare program in Fremont County
- Research and assess local childcare needs, gaps, and opportunities within the community
- Gather, organize, and summarize information related to Colorado childcare licensing requirements, timelines, and compliance considerations
- Coordinate meetings and communication with key stakeholders, including community partners, advisors, and potential collaborators
- Track outreach, conversations, and next steps to ensure consistent follow-through
- Contribute to shaping early program concepts, including structure, operations, and potential service offerings
- Prepare notes, summaries, and documentation to support decision-making and program development
- Maintain organized tracking systems for research, contacts, tasks, and progress updates
- Communicate regularly with leadership regarding progress, challenges, and emerging needs
- Support additional administrative or coordination needs related to the childcare initiative as it evolves
- Consistently embody Unbridled’s culture and values of character, change, credibility, and community
